The tussle over who is the true candidate of the Ondo state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming governorship elections in the state has taken a new twist as supporters of Eyitayo Jegede who belong to the Makarfi-led faction, Monday, alleged that thugs and police detail on convoy of Jimoh Ibrahim who belongs to the Modu Sheriff’s faction opened fire on them at the Eyitayo’s campaign office in Akure, the state’s capital.

According to a PDP chieftain in the state, Mr. Kunle Ijalana who was an eyewitness, “Jimoh Ibrahim and his over 30 vehicles’ convoy stopped at the campaign office, shooting sporadically direct at the building, while occupants and passersby scamper for safety in a shooting that lasted for over 10minutes.”
