Op Ed: God is Not in Control of the World By Allen Durueke

by on May 17, 2016
Many religious philosophies have forced people to buy into the
assumption that God is in control of the earth and that nothing
happens in the earth without his knowledge and influence, but this is
the height of fallacy.
As much as we can agree that nothing happens without his knowledge but
if He truly is in control, then the earth is in a real big mess, and
obviously He will be the one to account for all the atrocities we see
in our world today. The numerous cases rapes, terrorism, child
molestations and murders etc. We can also be safe to ask where He was
when our country sank into a pit of Corruption and Terrorism

Looking at it On the flip side, Satan is not in control either, if he
ever was there is no reason why anyone including you and I would be
alive today. What God has under control is the consequences of our
actions. God also controls things that are committed to him through
prayer when His conditions of faith are met

The key role of Satan is to influence actions negatively through
strong suggestions or persuasions (which many call temptations) in
order to produce negative outcomes or consequences, but the
responsibility to decide as to which way to follow is entirely up to
us and not God nor the Devil

God has set laws in motion in the world and the earlier we discover
these laws and apply them to our benefit the better. Knowing which way
to go and deciding to take the route puts us in place of advantage.
One of such laws we have is that "What a man sows is What he Reaps" .
It therefore means that bad choices in any area of ones life ,be it in
business, marriage, relationships or in the way we handle our body
health wise will sooner or later lead to bad results, neither God nor
satan can shifts this.

Man is and will always be a product of habits, therefore No matter how
pleasant some things may look like or how appealing they may be there
is always a day of reckoning, Its therefore important for us to adjust
ourselves to maintain balance and act in ways that will secure for us
a more rewarding future

I always thought there was something wrong with the way we understand religion and God. We are in charge of our lives for the most part, and that makes us responsible for the choices we make!
