Acting President Yemi Osinbajo this afternoon at the Aso Rock Villa met with a delegation of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) that were on anti corruption and good governance protest.

The NLC president, Ayuba Wabba, and TUC leader, Bala Kaigama, had led hundreds of protesters to the entrance of the Presidential Villa from where a delegation was chosen to be ushered into a meeting with Osinbajo.

The labour leaders presented an 18-point charter of demands  to the acting president and pledged to cooperate with government in the fight against corruption.

Osinbajo in his response recalled how corruption almost grounded the country, pointing out not much can be achieved to move the nation forward without seriously confronting sleaze and graft, something the Buhari administration is determined to do.

He also recommitted the administration to workers  welfare even as he recalled how President Buhari sourced bailout funds to help state governments offset backlog of workers salaries and pensions.
