PDP Chieftain Assassinated by Unknown Gunmen in Delta State

A leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Owei Brinimu­gha, was on Wednesday night shot dead by assail­ants.
The victim was killed by the suspected hoodlums around Kess College junction along Iwhrekpokpor road, Ughel­li North Local Government Area of the state.
The inci­dent occurred at about 8:30pm when the popular politician was returning home from an outing.
An eyewitness recount­ed details of the incident, saying the gunmen were adorned in bullet proof vests, shot the victim who is in his early 40s thrice on the stomach after shoot­ing severally into the air to scare away passersby.
Further details revealed that the armed men waited until the victim gave up the ghost before leaving the scene.
A senior police officer confirmed the develop­ment, saying the Ughelli Area Command has began investigation into the kill­ing in a bit to track down the assailants.
