PDP shuts Down Yola Airport as Atiku returns

by on November 25, 2017

Commercial flight operations were yesterday temporarily paralysed at the Yola Airport, as thousands of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members took over the airport to welcome former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who resigned earlier in the day from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Atiku, who arrived the airport in a chartered flight at 12 noon, was sandwich by PDP members and supporters whom held him ‘hostage’ for several hours, chanting praises and announcing the death of APC in the country.

The state Chairman of PDP, Mr. Abubakar Tahir Shehu, who led the party’s members to received the former vice president, told journalists that the journey to recover PDP’s stolen mandate from the ruling APC has commenced with the return of Atiku.

He said that Atiku would be given fair and level playing ground with all other stakeholders and that his return has change the political narratives in the state and the country.

But reacting to Atiku’s resignation from APC, the state APC leadership described his exit as a big blessing to the party, saying it has opened up chances for other members that left due to his presence to return.

Adamawa APC’s Organising Secretary, Alhaji Ahmed Lawan, told The Guardian in Yola that Atiku was not only a liability, but also a political cancer that killed the fortunes of the party in parts of the state.

He said many APC members left the party when the former vice president decamped from PDP and joined it, pointing out that APC has been praying for his exit from the party.

Lawan contended that with Atiku’s exit, the era of political terrorism has come to an end in the party, adding: “We in APC have succeeded in auctioning out a political property that has lost value. We have been shopping for buyers long ago, thanks to PDP for rescuing us from the waiting political disaster in the party come 2019,” he stated.

He dismissed insinuations that Governor Mohammed Jibrilla Bindow might decamp together with Atiku, saying the governor won in 2015 against Atiku’s candidate.

Well, what the former vice president will eat is making him unwise. He will soon realize that no matter his bribing strategy, some members of the frustrated PDP will antagonize him. They will view Atiku’s ambition as inordinate and very selfish, they will argue that Atiku ran away from PDP to join APC, and left APC again to smuggled himself into PDP, they will ask questions like these. Is Atiku mentally stable? Is Atiku politically and morally responsible? all these questions and other ones would be subjected to Scientific Reasoning, and at the end of the day, it will be concluded that Atiku is absolutely an unrepentant Political Prostitute. The party will conclude that this kind of a man, can never be an asset to the party but a liability. Thank you for your time!

They tearfully praise his departure because of shame and humiliation that the PDP members would have layed on them,my advise to the PDP is to give the new arrived member a great role to play IN THE PARTY because he now have a great sense that he abtains from his formal party.
This is a great win for PDP.

Comment…Lets face the fact,if they say atiku is currupt, well its bad enough but who isnt?Even the so called mr integrity alias ‘sai baba’has proved in this his administration that he is also a carrier of that virus called ‘quarruption’ as he has been found to be aiding and abating curruption. One anoying instance recently is the reinstating of fugitive maina,a man who had absconded with with a huge pension fund in the last administration. One undeniable plus for atiku however is that he is a detribalised nigerian, a thing that buhari lacks completely.Nigeria can make progress only under a unifier and not a divisor.God help nigeria!

Comment…Atiku is a true nationalist and I am certain he is the only man that will deliver Nigeria from APC mess for now. We are strongly and sincerely behind you Turaki Adamawa.
