Poor Chelsea Signings, Emenalo Under Fire

by on March 20, 2016

Michael Emenalo is set to become a casualty of Antonio Conte’s arrival at Chelsea, reports said.
Chelsea’s technical director has come under fire for making a series of poor signings in recent months and for the role he played in Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
Conte wants to bring Roma’s sporting director with him to Stamford Bridge.
And if, as expected, that deal is tied up, Emenalo is likely to depart the club, according to the Daily Star.
Emenalo pushed for Manuel Pellegrini to be hired as Chelsea manager but was overruled with Conte handed the role instead.
The former Nigeria defender has been on Chelsea’s staff since 2007 after beginning life there as a scout.
But a series of poor decisions combined with Conte’s arrival look set to spell the end of his time at the club.
The Italian manager, who confirmed earlier in the week that he will step down from his post after Euro 2016, is also ready to recall the forgotten Blues pair to his squad for next season.
