Manchester City loanee Chidiebere Nwakali will be handed a chance to stake a claim at World Cup-bound Super Eagles, and that could even be as early as next month in Algeria.
“Chidi Nwakali is one of the players being considered by the Super Eagles because the coach (Gernot Rohr)is looking for a lot more creativity in midfield.
He could play as an attacking midfielder or a playmaker.
Nwakali, older brother of Flying Eagles and Arsenal midfielder Kelechi Nwakali, was one of the stars when Nigeria won the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in Abu Dhabi.
He has also been capped by Nigeria at U20 level.
Nwakali,20, has been consistent in Norway on loan from Manchester City.
Last season, he scored three goals in 22 appearances for IK Start.
And in the current campaign, he has also scored three goals in 23 appearances for Sogndal, who are above the relegation pack.
