Ruggedman hits EFCC. on point or seeking visibility?

by on October 19, 2019

Rapper, Ruggedman has taken to social media to question the modus operandi of the anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

While reacting to several cases of people who are being arrested and paraded for money laundering, and later released for lack of evidence, the rapper opined that it is obvious EFCC does not carry out investigations before making arrests.

In a series of tweets posted on his official Twitter handle, Ruggedman charged men of the EFCC to make their findings first before arresting so they can know exactly who they are looking for.

He went further to say that the methods of the EFCC are unprofessional as no one arrests and parades people without proper findings.

Ruggedman also added that the EFCC dehumanizes people and that they have no right to put people in a cell without investigating.

He wrote thus; “You put them in cells while you “investigate”. You have not rught to put innocent people through such a dehumanizing drama. Do you publicly apologise and compensate the innocent people you traumatised? Or you just do not care.

“How does that make you different from the rogue police officers we complain about daily? YOU NEED TO RESPECT HUMAN RIGHTS. YOU DO NOT BREAK THE LAW TO KEEP THE LAW,” he added.

The latest comments by Ruggedman has got critics thinking he may have misfired as its a blanket statement to say the EFCC and other security operatives such as the Nigeria Police Force do not carry out investigations before arresting suspects.

Perhaps, Ruggedman may be seeking visibility on social media like he did during the #ENDSARS campaign which brought him so much traction when calls for the scrapping of the police unit was on the high.
