The management of popular Lagos hotel, WheatBaker Hotel, has disclaimed reports by Sahara Reporters that security details of former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode caused panic in the hotel on Tuesday evening.
In a letter addressed to Fani-Kayode and made available to BREAKING TIMES, the hotel said: “In light of an on-line report brought to our attention this morning, The Wheatbaker wish to clarify that no formal complaints were received by the hotel guests in the matter of the armed security escort nor was there any personal interaction with yourself on the matter.”
On Tuesday, Sahara Reporters claimed Fani-Kayode and his entourage of 15 heavily armed policemen caused panic and triggered anxiety. The hotel is located at 4 Onitolo Road (former Lawrence Road) in Ikoyi. The officers were said to belong to the anti-riot unit.
Fani-Kayode was on Wednesday discharged and acquitted by Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of all charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a case that had popular lawyer Festus Keyamo as Prosecuting Counsel.
The former Minister of Aviation who changed his name to celebrate also claimed the money laundering trial almost destroyed his life, family, reputation, health and career.
