Senator Andy Uba joins APC, vows to destroy PDP, APGA

by on January 30, 2017
There was confusion in Aguata Local Government Area chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Anambra State yesterday after Senator Andy Uba declared for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Uba who is a Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial Zone was elected under the PDP and was a short time governor under PDP but suddenly declared for APC in his Uga Ward on Saturday.
He was registered by party’s ward officials shortly after Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State disclosed that he is consulting with three governors in the South-East Zone, and former Senate President, Chief Ken Nnamani emerging as the new leader of APC in the South East zone.
Several calls and text messages to Senator Uba’s phone to confirm the development yielded no result as at press time but his aide who said he was not asked to speak confirmed that his boss has joined the APC.
He said, ‘’Yes, it happened Saturday morning at his Uga Ward. Party officials from the ward registered him and he assured to work with them and enthrone APC government as APGA and PDP must collapse for APC in Anambra State. There is confusion here for PDP and APGA.
He, however, appealed not to be quoted as he was not asked to speak to newsmen.

It’s conventional in ever Democratic nation that every individual, as enshrined in the constitution, has it as a fundamental right to join any political party of his or her choice. But is it constitutionally wise for somebody to declare war against a political party that brought he or she to power after decamping from the same party to the other.
I will only describe chief Ifeanyi Uba’s vow to destroy PDP and APGA as political selfishness and poor political inculcating blending.
