The Senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Dino Melaye, has denied ever tweeting in endorsement of Governor Idris Wada.
Apparently under pressure from his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Melaye took to Twitter on Friday, to disclaim the tweet. He described the said tweet which emanated from his Twitter account as the “handiwork of demons.”
Senator Melaye created a frenzy on Twitter when his tweet openly declaring the incumbent governor of Kogi State and a gubernatorial aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Captain Idris Wada as the better candidate for the forthcoming Kogi governorship election, was published on Twitter on Friday.
Senator Dino who is a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC), clearly stated in the tweet that his party’s candidate in the state Prince Abubakar Audu can not be compared to the Governor. “In all fairness, you can’t compare Wada with Abubakar Audu. Under Wada, Kogi has made much more progress!”, Dino said.
Dino, known for his controversial stance once accused a national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, of plotting to have him removed from the Senate for supporting Bukola Saraki to emerge as the Senate President.
As at the time of filing this report the controversial pro Wada tweet has been deleted from his account but not before it was munched by some Nigerian Twitter users as seen below.
