Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, the Senator who represented Imo East constituency in the 8th Senate Assembly has continued to play a pivotal role in the advancement of women and youth across Nigeria through generous empowerment and capacity building trainings.
Samuel Anyanwu, popularly know as ‘Sam Daddy’ further highlighted the need to bridge the gap on women’s political inclusion through sponsorship of leadership training for 40 female younths, 20 in Owerri and 20 in Abuja, facilitated by Women Leadership Institute.
Senator Anyanwu who’s popularity is sustained by his resolute belief of shared prosperity and equal opportunities for all genders, continues to propagate this ideology beyond politics.
Obianuju Ogoko, the programme facilitator stayed that 20 female Youths will from today participate in a 3 day capacity building training in Abuja.
The participants are Onyebuchi Cynthia, Oluchi Adiela Nwosu, Ibe Emelia Chinyere, Uchechi Nwaorgu,Chidinma Consolleta,Brenda Ugorji, Operaocha Ann, Enwere Chinyere, Matthias Sharon, Vivian Okoroha, Chidinma Onuoha, Amarachi Okoka, Oluchi Eze, Ogugua Anne, Dorothy Soribe, Cynthia Ugwuliri,Chidera Ugo, Urquhart Chinyere, Success Chikezie and Mishael Onyiyechi.
Sam Anyanwu was the Secretary Imo State Youth Organization (IYO) in 1983 as well as a political leader in the Democratic Party of Nigeria (DPN) and later political leader in the UNCP.
In 2003, he was the Transition Committee Chairman of Ikeduru Local Government Council, and then Secretary of the Imo State chapter of ALGON from 2003 to 2004.
In 2004, Sam Anyanwu was elected the Executive Chairman of Ikeduru LGA.
In 2007, He contested for the representation of his constituency at the State House of Assembly and was elected successfully on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
He was successfully re-elected in 2011 for a second tenure in the State House of Assembly.
Having been buoyed by his series of political scores, Sam Anyanwu popularly known as SamDaddy contested in the 2015 elections to represent Imo East Senatorial District at the National Assembly. He was declared winner of the polls on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
