Settle with Enyeama, Rohr begs NFF

by on April 18, 2017

As the Super Eagles goal keeping nightmare continues to worry Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr, the Franco- German Coach has indicated his insistence on having former Eagles captain and goalkeeper, Vincent Enyaman back to the team.

Rohr has expressed fears on the fitness of Wolverhampton safe hand, Carl Ikeme ahead of the June AFCON qualifying match against South Africa, even as her raised concerns about the forms of two reserve goalkeepers, Vincent Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

Rohr has therefore regretted that his push to have Enyama back to the Super Eagles team has been blocked due to his issues with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)

Former Super Eagles Captain and goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, is staying away from the team due to issues with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) according to coach of the team Gernot Rohr.

Rohr has long voiced his desires to see the shot stopper return to the team following his fine showing for Lille of France and the fitness issues of current first choice Carl Ikeme, but the Franco- German coach has so far failed in his bid to bring the fans favourite out of retirement from international football .

Enyeama quit the team after a row with former coach Sunday Oliseh , who stripped him off his role as captain of the team, but according to Rohr his main issue lies with someone in the NFF.

” The door is open for Vincent Enyeama in the national team . I think he had a problem with the federation, so he wanted someone to call him before coming. They called him or they didn’t reach him I don’t know”, Rohr said.

” We have three goalkeepers at the moment but we will welcome everybody who will respect our work rate, solidarity, humility and not expect special favours. So the door is opened also to Enyeama “.
