Yakubu Dogara, a member of the Federal House of Representatives of Nigeria, representing Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa-Balewa federal constituency of Bauchi State under the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as an “illegality”, the emergence of Femi Gbajabiamila on Saturday as the APC’s consensus candidate for Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives.

Dogara took to his Twitter page on Saturday to express his displeasure over what he called “Illegality perpetrated by leadership of the All Progressives Congress.”

Dogara, dismissed the exercise as “an ambush, manipulative and indicative of the fact that the party leadership came with a predetermined position which was skewed to favour Hon Gbajabiamila.”

Dogara submitted that “the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives cannot be conducted outside the chamber of the House and we are ready to participate in that process on Tuesday 9th June, 2015.”
