Super Eagles vice captain Ogenyi Onazi has stated that his move from the Turkish league to Championship side, Birmingham city will provide new challenges for him as the club battles to return to the Premier League.
The Super Eagles star who provided update on his potential move to Birmingham City from Trabzonspor, which will be made official on Wednesdaydisclosed that he has been a long target for Birmingham coach, Harry Rednapp, since his playing days at Lazio.
Onazi is a prime target for manager Harry Redknapp, who views the Nigerian as a player who could play a part in their bid to gain promotion to the English Premier League.
The former Lazio ace who revealed Redknapp wanted to sign him while he was manager of Tottenham Hostspur said he is hoping to complete the switch in few days time citing the ambitions of the club as a factor in his decision to join the club after a phone call with the manager.
“It’s almost a done deal. It would be a new challenge for me. This club wants to return to EPL, they also want to sign good players that will ensure the promotion of the team back to the Premier League. I want to be part of the group,”
