by on January 15, 2016

The Supreme Court has upheld the election of Samuel Ortom of the All Progressives Congress as the Governor of Benue State.

The court dismissed the appeal of the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Mr. Terhemen Tarzoor where he claimed that Samuel Ortom emerged as the governorship candidate of the APC without being registered as a member.

The court dismissed Tarzoor’s case saying he was not a member of the APC.

Mr. Terhemen Tarzoor had headed to the Supreme Court after the Court of Appeal sitting in Makurdi upheld the verdict of the Benue State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, which affirmed the qualification and election of Ortom as governor of the state.
