Fear has gripped residents of Nasarawa State over the alleged killing of 73 cows of gunmen who attacked Kadarko village.
Both residents and security agencies are yet to have a clue on the perpetrators of the crime.
The attack was well-coordinated by the gunmen who invaded the community in their hundreds.
Meanwhile, the leadership of the Miyetti Allah has called for calm as security operatives have promised to fish out the criminals.
The Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Nasarawa State chapter, Muhammed Hussaini, said that the gunmen attacked the village located between Benue and Nasarawa in the early hours of Sunday, shooting sporadically to scare away the residents.
He alleged that the gunmen killed 73 cows, wounded several others and rustled over 200 of them before returning to Benue State.
MACBAN called on the affected herders to remain calm as the government and security operatives track down the perpetrators.
The state command Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Idrisu Kennedy, confirmed the incident
Kennedy said that no life was lost, but four of the six people declared missing had been found alive while two Fulani herders were still missing.
