No fewer than 20 communities have fled their homes for fear of attack in Anka emirate, the Wazirin Anka, Alhaji Muhammad Inuwa has said.
The Waziri who is second in command at the Anka emirate in Zamfara State made the disclosure while speaking at the palace of the emir.
“All the communities have left their villages over fear of attack in the area, and that the Internally Displaced Persons have now spread themselves in primary schools, Anka local council Secretariat and their relatives’ houses.
“We are working to settle people as they are mostly helpless women and children, some of who cannot tell you where their husbands are at the moment.
“We are appealing to the federal government to provide more security for us to protect our lives and properties”, he said.
Speaking while addressing the displaced persons, the Chairman of Anka local government area, Alhaji Mustafa Gado described the incidents as very unfortunate.
The chairman who lamented that despite an earlier promise by the federal government that there would be air and land strikes against the bandits, we are yet to see any air raid in our airspace which might be why the bandits have continued to elude the security”.
The State Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Muhammad Danjari who was also in the area to sympathise with the people, urged them to see the incidents as trial from God and continue to pray for peace and stability in the area, State and Nigeria in general.
