Apostle Paul said in one of his letters to the Ephesians – Ephesians 4:25 (KJV); “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.”
A young girl of about 14 years old ran away from home because her step father wanted to defile her sexually and she couldn’t give in because of maybe morals, values or religious belief. This young girl went to a Church, a place that is supposed to be a shield from her step father. Guess what happened? The married pastor of the same Church she went to find a safe haven ended up impregnating her. A Church, among many other things, is a place where people are to be healed. Strangely, people are getting broken in the same place.
The stories emanating from our Churches as regards “Men of God” is becoming increasing and quite scary. More disturbing is the unflinching support, though mostly excuses, members who worship in those Churches put up in defense of these “men of God” who perpetrates these shameful deeds. More so, the uneasy quietness of Church Leaders is even more depressing and disheartening.
Churches are now being led by impostors, fraudulent characters, con artists, sexual perverts, fetishism and diablolism patronizer, and morally bankrupt invididuals, posing as “Pastors”, “G.O”, “Apostle”, “President”, “Papa”, “Man of God”, “Most Reverend Bishop”, Etc. A place of sanctity, holiness and righteousness has now become a den for usurpers and defalcators. In other to avoid being misconstrued, a Church is Bibilically a place where everyone who seeks repentance through Christ should be accepted and accommodated, regardless. But, heading the Church of God without genuine repentance and living a morally upright way of life is preposterous!
How are we not even worried? Why do we pass of those distasteful acts of “men of God” as normal? Are we comfortable as the body of Christ is being made a mess of? Recall, There was a time in the Bible, our Lord Jesus Christ “went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”
Of course I do recognize our fallibility/weakness in humans. Our men of God are also humans, right? But then, if they keep falling repeatedly, I’ll vehemently advise such men of God step aside and deal with their weakness, instead of bringing disrepute and disgrace to the Body of Christ. This is the same way ordinary workers in the Church who falls into sin are being treated. Why can’t men of God be treated in this same manner? The so called men of God after committing morally distrusting acts will still mount the pulpit to preach and say “God said I shouldn’t talk”, what effrontery! Need I remind you that – “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)
If the Church – Body Of Christ doesn’t purge itself of this negativity, who will? I leave Church leaders with this: “There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right. ― Martin Luther King Jr.
To those who pick enemity with the brave men and women who dare to challenge and speak vociferosly against the perils that has deeply eaten the body of Christ, I ask you: “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?” Galatians 4:16 (KJV)
