The former governor of Lagos State and National leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has urged all aspirants of the Lagos State governorship primaries to co-operate with the winner of the election.
Tinubu made the appeal at the governorship primaries held at Onikan Stadium, Lagos, on Thursday. He further stated that though the 12 aspirants were qualified to lead the state as governor, it is only one person that would emerge.
‘‘We must put our detractors to shame by our agreement to work together and put the interest of the state above our personal ambitions”, he said.
Tinubu whose address was read by the Lagos State Publicity Secretary of APC, Joe Igbokwe, commended the attitude exhibited by all the aspirants during their campaigns, which enable them to move round the entire state. “When I met with the aspirants some times ago you demanded for a transparent primary that would equal opportunity to every aspirant, today that has come to pass”.
Asiwaju also said that the attitude of aspirants at the end of the primary election would determine the direction of the state. “How we conduct ourselves after this primary will decide what Lagos would look like.” He commended all the delegates and party leaders for their determination and commitment to work for the victory of the party in the forth-coming general elections in February 2015.
