Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has bagged a 2017 Grammy award nomination for his contributions to American hip-hop star, Drake’s ‘Views’ album.
Wizkid was listed in the album credits as a guest producer and also featured on the song ‘One Dance’.
This will certainly be another encouragement to the Starboy Records CEO who has seen his stock rise internationally, in a year that has seen him bag collaborations with top British rapper, Tinie Tempah for the hit song, Mamacita.
Wizkid wasn’t the only Nigerian to earn a grammy nomination, as Kah-Lo, a British – Nigerian musician known for her vocals on the song Rinse and Repeat by British DJ, Riton was also nominated for the Best Dance Recording of the year.
Kah-Lo reacted to news of her nomination via her official instagram page with a post that simply read “OLUWA DID IT! @ritontime has all the swag sauce!”.
The nominations were led by Beyonce who bagged 9 nominations, followed by Drake, Rihanna and controversial rapper Kanye West, bagging eight nominations each.
