Former Super Eagles’ midfielder, Friday Ekpo, has warned the Super Eagles of Nigeria not to be carried away by their current table toping position in the group B Africa qualifying group for the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, insisting that the group ticket has not been won yet.

Ekpo urged the players to remain focused and set their target on the back-to-back game against African champions, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, noting that it is the games that could be the decider for the ticket.

The former players also urged that the players must keep their heads down and play the remaining group games with full concentration if they must clinch the group ticket at the expense of Cameroon

He argued that the group is dstill open despite Nigeria’s comfortable Six points lead, stressing that everything is possible and Algeria that are rock bottom can even spring surprises and usurp the top spot if they win two games and Nigeria slacks back to loses two.

“We are going to play two games at home and two away; anything can still happen, as Zambia can beat Nigeria in Uyo, the same way we beat them in Ndola, because everything is possible in football.”

“We have to take all the advantage and chances that come our way, so that we will be able to stabilise our place for the World Cup ticket”, Ekpo advised.
