DG ISPR rejects speculations of any Deal with Nawaz Sharif

DG ISPR Press Conference has created more uncertainty in PK Politics

Rawalpindi ( The Breaking Times – Arshad Farooq Butt ) Director General ISPR Pakistan Army Major General Babar Iftikhar has rejected speculations of any kind of deal with Ex Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. DG ISPR terms the talks with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as baseless and speculative.

During the press conference, he said that the less talk about the deal, the better for the country. Ask those who talk like that who is getting the deal done.

According to the details, when asked about the deal with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Major General Babar Iftikhar said that all those were speculations.

If anyone talks about such a deal, ask him who is doing the deal. What are its motivations? There is no such thing. If anyone talks like this, ask him for the details.

The DG ISPR said that a systematic campaign had been launched against various Pakistani institutions for some time then. The campaign aimed to bridge the gap between the government, the people and the institutions, and to undermine public confidence in the institutions.

Not only are we aware of all such activities but also aware of their links. These people have failed in the past and will continue to fail in future.

Who is talking about Deal between Establishment and Nawaz Sharif?

Nawaz Sharif and his party leaders are very cautious about the deal and no one has made a direct statement. However, some TV anchors have been trying for the past month to give the impression that a deal has been reached between Pak Army and Nawaz Sharif.

Seeing the situation, the PML-N leaders also started saying that Nawaz Sharif was coming back soon. Nawaz Sharif also said that he would return to Pakistan soon.

Prime minister Imran Khan also could not remain silent on the news of the deal and said that if Nawaz Sharif is to be made the Prime Minister again then all the prisoners should be released.

Many TV anchors, including Najam Sethi, were of the opinion that a formula for power sharing had been worked out between Nawaz Sharif and the Establishment.

No One has the Right to Tap my Phone, Maryam Nawaz

He also said that there was a difference of opinion on one or two issues on which the deal would be finalized after consensus. One of the differences was that Nawaz Sharif said that first the coalition parties should be separated from the government.

One assumption was that there would be an in-house change in March, and the opposition might not need a long march. Elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reinforced the impression that the Establishment had now lifted its hand from the PTI.

Today’s press conference of the DG ISPR has further complicated the current political situation of Pakistan. And Opposition parties will move to Long March instead of peaceful power sharing which may not good for the Establishment as well.

Poor performance of PTI and continued support of the Establishment

It would not be correct to say that the Establishment is neutral in the political arena of Pakistan. On several occasions, Establishment’s continued support for PTI has not gone unnoticed. Former DG ISI Asad Durrani has also acknowledged this unparalleled support.

During PM Imran Khan’s four-year rule, dozens of journalists were picked up by the unknown agencies. Imran Khan never questioned the real authorities about the state within state. Media blackouts and dissenting journalists like Hamid Mir have also been banned by the Establishment instead of the government, which gives the impression that Imran Khan’s government is a puppet and the real ruler is the Establishment.

However, the poor performance of the PTI government has limited the options for the establishment. That is why the thieves of the past are now beginning to be the heroes of the people.
